November 1, 2009 – Nutrition
Today is a well earned rest day for CFR. If you haven’t noticed, we have been following the CrossFit mainsite WODs for a couple weeks. Funny how nothing has really changed. You are still working harder than other gyms and getting better results too. More deadlift PRs on Friday, more muscle-up work, ladies hitting the 10 foot wall ball “targets” and even some runs outside around our new digs. Speaking of the new digs, have you noticed that you aren’t getting anything that you didn’t get in the garage? Maybe a little more space to move but improving fitness is about you working hard and attacking the program every time you are in the gym, where ever that is and whatever I ask you to do.
While you are watching football today grab your laptop and check out the new Nutrition Page I put together. The Nutrition Page is full of information that can help you better understand how our body handles different foods and how to use to use these responses to your advantage. There are articles, book recommendations, a great documentary and websites that will challenge your preconceived understanding of nutrition and put the lie to the usual advice from the usual sources.
We advocate a diet of natural foods, grown naturally and prepared well. We turn our back on manmade food products with shelf lives measured in months and years.
How do you sit when you do your homework? Jon sits like several billion people worldwide do.
