I received the official business license, we get the keys for the new box this week and will be installing the floor on Thursday and Friday. Other items on the agenda are changing rooms, signage of some sort, many trips to Home Depot, designing signage, organizing the administrative area, finishing boxes, ordering more stuff… I should probably get some toilet paper too. That’d be nice for everyone. I can’t tell you how excited I am, thanks for helping make it happen.

Fight Gone Bad went extremely well.
Yeah it hurt. Everyone who participated felt the effects of one of the most difficult CrossFit Challenges.
Bret, Jenny, Marilee (that’s my mom) and I represented CFR at the event and combined to raise over $600 from friends and family who were supporting our athletes. I was more than proud of “my people” because the most common comment made about them was that they just didn’t stop, they pushed through the pain and kept getting reps. Watching Bret and my mom was inspiring for exactly that reason. I was working at the same time as Jenny and her hard work just highlighted that she was kicking my butt.
I’m super proud of how you guys represented.
The folks at SnoRidge CrossFit were great hosts and their 3 week old facility is beautiful. I’ve been to a good number of CF Gyms and SnoRidge is probably the most well appointed, well thought out, most welcoming gym I have been too. Tom and Michelle are also high grade CF coaches. If you have friends or family in the Snoqualmie Ridge area send them to SnoRidge for some “Brutal Fun”. They will thank you later.
We also met some great folks from DuPont who train at the not yet (and hopefully soon to be) affiliated “Team Schneider” from the Torture Chamber, a group of folks working out in a garage. So you know they are good peoples. I’ve seen athletes from well known, loud affiliates who’s experienced athletes have much worse form than their folks. I guess you can do good work in a garage.
For those of you who missed out on FGB, don’t worry, we are already talking about out next inter-affiliate event.
Team Snohomish also participated. Great work guys! I hear I was only about 100 points behind Jeff. The Vale spawn continue to dominate me.
Pics of Bret and Marilee (I have to get pics of Jen and me from someone else) and of our hosts.

A few folks have asked for some before pictures of the new box. Here are some I took when viewing the property. I stopped by the space today and the crew doing the improvements is doing a great job and the place looks really nice.

September 17, 2009 – Our new home
The paint is ugly, the floor is stained, the carpet needs to be taken out and burned and there is a wall where the pull-up bar needs to go. But it’s all ours.
Yes it’s true. CrossFit Redmond signed a lease for 2,160 square feet of space this morning. The goal is to be open for classes fulltime the week of October 4th. A lot needs to happen between now and then but that’s half the fun. Right? We have ninety 4×6 stall mats (each weighing 90 pounds) being delivered the 1st of October, a fabricator advising on pull-up bar designs, a huge Costco list of supplies, ideas for furniture, changing “rooms”, signs, storage and we have 54 shiny new plates and more barbells coming to join the party.
This is a monumental day for CrossFit Redmond and it frankly would never have happened without your commitment to developing uncommon fitness. I think I just called you all weird. Well you are, who do you know who can do the stuff you do (in your warm ups even) without CrossFit? Anyways. It’s ugly, it will be pretty(er) and it will always be ours.
Now do the workout!

Sit-ups
My time was 8:05, a PR because I have been practicing DUs. I’m still bad at them but improving. Jonathon’s quote this morning while watching Cara. “That’s AMAZING! I can’t even see the rope anymore.” Move your wrists really fast and your arms as little as possible. They really aren’t hard to do, just watch Cara, you’ll be amazed.
